Volunteering
St. Joseph Regional Catholic School is fortunate to have many dedicated volunteers who give their time and talents each year to benefit the entire school community. Volunteers truly model Christian values as our students see firsthand the importance of giving back to their community.
Any individual who wishes to become an SJRCS volunteer must complete mandatory screening requirements. The required paperwork can be obtained at the Diocese of Manchester Child Safety Website where parents may also view Child Safety Policies and the “Protecting God’s Children” training schedule. Online registration to attend a session is available from the Diocese of Manchester Child Safety website.
Any volunteer who provides student transportation is required to submit a copy of his or her driver’s license, proof of insurance, and a signed Diocese of Manchester Driver/Vehicle Registration form. This correspondence must be submitted each school year.
Depending on the volunteer assignment, volunteers may be asked to attend an orientation meeting. All volunteers in the school are required to wear name badges (provided and located at the front reception desk) and sign in when entering and leaving the school. Volunteers should record any hours contributed after school or at home and submit their hours to the Parent Guild before the end of the school year.
A volunteer training guide is available that can help answer general questions in regards to volunteering at SJRCS. In addition feel free to contact the Safe Environment Coordinator at the Safe Environment Office (see Contacts) for specific questions on how to become a volunteer. Parent Guild
The Parent Guild consists of all parents, guardians, and grandparents who have children attending St. Joseph Regional Catholic School. The goals of this Guild are to enrich children’s experiences at SJRCS, and to foster a sense of community among all SJRCS participants; parents, teachers and students. The SJRCS Parent Guild meets once per month to discuss upcoming events and activities that benefit the school.
All are welcome at the monthly meetings!
The SJRCS Parent Guild Executive Board provides leadership to the Guild, enabling the organization to fulfill its established purposes. The board consists of a President (Principal), and usually the Chairpersons of the standing committees (which include the Parent Guild Secretary and Treasurer).
Each year we ask all individuals interested in volunteering to complete a volunteer interest survey. To download the form, click on the following link: Volunteer Interest Survey. Information gathered from this survey is disseminated to Parent Guild chairpersons, classroom representative, and school administration to facilitate volunteer efforts. Individuals are contacted only after they have completed all mandatory screening and returned an annual volunteer interest survey.
For specific questions about upcoming Parent Guild-sponsored events listed on the volunteer interest survey please contact the guild at sjrcsguild@gmail.com (this e-mail address is being protected from spambots, so you need JavaScript enabled in order to view it). The Parent Guild is a great source of information on school happenings and a wonderful place to connect with other families interested in actively supporting the school.
Volunteers may be needed to help with student athletics and activities throughout the year. These and other urgent volunteer requests can be found in the school newsletter, via emails from the guild, through www.Homeworknow.com announcements from the office, or on this website.
Each spring SJRCS has a volunteer breakfast in honor of our dedicated volunteers. This is a family breakfast held prior to the school day. Staff and students take this time to say “THANK YOU” for all the support that volunteers provide to the SJRCS school community.
